Eating Your Way Down El Paso Street

Updated 2026-08-30

El Paso Street is the closest thing El Paso has to a main street, and it rewards walking. Park once, eat three times, and finish with coffee.

Start late-morning, not at noon

Kitchens along the strip fill up between 12 and 1:30 with the lunch crowd from nearby offices. Arriving around 11am means shorter waits and full menus.

Split plates and keep moving

The point of the street is variety. Order one plate per stop, split it, and walk to the next. Three stops across a few blocks is a comfortable afternoon.

Check local event calendars

Check Downtown El Paso event listings for current markets and community programs; confirm dates and hours before heading out.

Park once, eat in small plates, and treat the whole strip as one long menu. Check the directory for current hours before heading out.
